Deviousness |
Again, I don't want to come off being nasty and it's nothing personal, but in the future you may want to not use an image found from the internet and draw as much from it as you did. You can use references, sure, but in your case I recognized the source material instantly; the pose is exactly the same and there was little change to the main design.
I'm just being difficult because you submitted it for an official contest with the prospect of winning money. DA staff can be strict, as they should be, with possible copyright infringement. It was also underlined rather heavily in the Official Terms that it had to be completely original work. Here's an excerpt:
6. YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT:
By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant:
That you have the absolute and unrestricted right to submit the Entry as your sole work under the Terms and Conditions of the Design Challenge;
All images of people or names of people that appear in the Entry, if any, have unconditionally granted to you the right to use their respective names or images for the Entry without any additional compensation to be paid for those rights and you will produce a signed grant on request;
Other than the assets provided for download from the Design Challenge Page, the Entry and every part of the Entry does not infringe on any intellectual property rights or other property interests of any other person, company or enterprise.
I'd like seeing it deleted, or resubmitted with proper credit, but NOT as a contest entry, but it's all up to you, really. Wish you the best in the contest still. I saw that you had another entry
